Farewell  to Deputy Director Lyle Winton

Dr. Lyle Winton, our Deputy Director for the Research Cloud and NSP programs, will be leaving NeCTAR to take up an opportunity to pursue his long interest in supporting the Digital Humanities.

Lyle will not be moving far away as he will be employed at the University of Melbourne and we expect to continue to have opportunities to work with him in supporting the digital humanities in Australia.

We would like to acknowledge the tremendous leadership role Lyle has played in driving the transition of the Research Cloud from the Super Science investment to the matured operating model we now have under the NCRIS program. Lyle’s contribution is being celebrated by his peers and colleagues at all levels of the cloud and among the community of cloud users he has fostered and supported.

Lyle’s cheery disposition, unflappability and dedication will be missed in the NeCTAR office and across the breadth of the NeCTAR stakeholders.
