Attention all project managers, researchers, software developers, operators, architects and infrastructure providers involved in building and operating Virtual Laboratories and associated research software infrastructure. You are invited to two workshops to share experiences and coordinate activity within and across projects.

Virtual Laboratory research software infrastructure workshop

The workshop provides an opportunity for research software projects to:

  • collaborate on current and future endeavours, informing one another of trajectories in 2016 and beyond;
  • discuss and influence the future planning of NCRIS programs including Nectar, ANDS and RDS

Topics
The workshop will provide opportunities for updates and discussion around the future of the Virtual Laboratories and science clouds programs, and the impact of the NCRIS Roadmap.

Who should attend?
Open to key stakeholders involved in building, operating or steering Virtual Laboratories and associated research software infrastructure projects (including those involved in other NCRIS entities): software developers, operators, architects, project managers, infrastructure providers and researchers, and infrastructure providers who provide enabling services to Nectar’s research software infrastructure projects: cloud nodes, RDSI nodes, ANDS, AeRO, AAF, eResearch organisations etc.

Cloud Software Developer Roundtable

The workshop provides an opportunity for Research Cloud software developers to:

  • Share knowledge and demonstrate emerging technologies and techniques for deploying research software on the cloud
  • Identify challenges for software engineers deploying research software infrastructure.

Topics

The roundtable will be run primarily as an unconference to enable the community to identify and prioritise key issues for discussion.

Who should attend?
Open to anyone developing and deploying research software infrastructure on Nectar’s Research Cloud: Software Developers, Cloud DevOps, Virtual Machine System Administrators etc.
